The Return of Futurama

After 5 years of reruns on Cartoon Network, Futurama is officially back with four brand new feature length films. The four films will be released from late 2007 to 2008. Each will be split into 4 episodes each and aired as Season 5 on Comedy Central. Which will officially be the home of Futurama at the beginning of 2008.

The first feature length movie will be released on November 27th, 2007 and will be titled “Bender’s Big Score”. The official plot is as follows: “The Planet Express crew fights to save the world from nudist alien internet scammers, who send Bender back into the past to steal the world’s greatest treasures. The secret to time travel is tatooed on Fry’s buttocks, Leela finds true love, and Fry learns a terrible secret about his destiny and his buttocks.”

After Bender’s Big Score, there will be three more films released throughout 2008. “The Beast with a Billion Backs”, “Bender’s Game”, “The Wild Green Yonder” are the respective titles for the three films that follow. All of the movies will be available on DVD and High definition format (most likely Blu-Ray). The films will also be shot in widescreen format (a first for the series).

If the all four of the DVDs sell well and the series gets good ratings on Comedy Central, Futurama will more then likely return for good. If your a fan of Futurama, buy the DVD or watch the new episodes airing in 2008 on Comedy Central.
